Turning an Artist's Wax Sculpture into Bronze for The Gavin Project
We were approached by Choni from The Gavin Project - an art dealer in Johannesburg - to cast an artist's wax sculpture in bronze.
The interesting looking art piece of a “man-donkey” – head of a donkey and body of a man – was quite fragile; giving us a bit of a challenge. But we love a challenge!
So, in our sculpture casting studio we carefully created a mould using the original wax sculpture, made a cast of the “Man-Donkey” and coated it in cold cast bronze and this is the end result.
